Knitwear Innovation and Design Society (KIDS) organized the “Young Knitwear Designers’ Contest 2024” to provide a platform for young knitwear designers to develop their talents. The “Young Knitwear Designers’ Contest 2024” will showcase finalists’ Knitwear Collections at “Shenzhen Fashion Week AW2024 scheduled on 13 – 21 April at OCT Harbour in Shenzhen. There will be a “Finalists’ Show” on 20 April and “Finalists’ Exhibition” on 13 – 21 April. In this event, you will see Knitwear Design Collections from Hong Kong & Greater Bay Area. All these knitwear outfits are designed by the FINALISTS of the “Young Knitwear Designers’ Contest 2024”. Come visit at Shenzhen Fashion Week AW2024!

Knitwear Innovation and Design Society (KIDS) organized the “Young Knitwear Designers’ Contest 2024” to provide a platform for young knitwear designers to develop their talents. The “Young Knitwear Designers’ Contest 2024” will hold a free seminar “Together We Knit the Future Fashion” on 15 Mar 2024. This seminar aims to let fashion designers and industry professionals understand new technologies of knitwear and market information of the fashion industry.

The seminar invited Ms. Jessica Lee from UNIFi3D, Ms. Marianne McLean-Atkins (Knitwear Designer), Mr. Harry Lui from Smark Global and Mr. Stanley Kwok from KnitWarm to be the guest speakers and they will share us their experiences and insights on virtual fashion, sustainable knitwear design, tips on operation of fashion e-shop and knitwear innovation.

The Guangdong Textile Engineering Society, the Guangdong Institution of Engineers, and HKITA – Certification Ceremony of Guangdong- Hong Kong Mutual Recognition of Engineer Competency Evaluation

In order to strengthen the exchange and integration of textile engineering and technical personnel in Guangdong Province and Hong Kong, promote the mutual recognition of the ability evaluation of engineers in the Greater Bay Area, and promote the flow of talents and collaborative innovation and development in the Greater Bay Area. HKITA cooperates with the Guangdong Textile Engineering Society, the Guangdong Institution of Engineers in carrying out the mutual recognition of the competence evaluation of textile engineers in Guangdong and Hong Kong.

 

On 29 Jan 2024, the Guangdong Textile Engineering Society, the Guangdong Institution of Engineers, and HKITA held a certification ceremony for the first batch of Guangdong and Hong Kong engineers in the textile field in Qingyuan, Guangdong. HKITA Chairman Prof. Kan Chi Wai attended this ceremony and presented certificates to the first batch of engineers certified by Hong Kong in the textile field.

Clothing Industry Training Authority – Diploma Programme (CEF course)

Clothing Industry Training Authority is organizing the Diploma Programmes: Diploma in Fashion Creation Technology and Diploma in Fashion Product Development. These courses are designed for those who intend to develop in the apparel industry, the purpose is to enable students to understand the operation and process from design to finish product, so as to master various abilities as the cornerstone of entering the clothing industry or creating their brand.

The programme equips students with technical competence in fashion clothing creation (cut and sewn). Students will learn about the technical knowledge in the area of textile materials, pattern design and clothing production.

The “Young Knitwear Designers’ Contest 2024” will hold a free seminar “Start Up Your Fashion Business in Knitwear Design” on 5 Jan, so designers to learn more about the details of the contest and the knitwear industry.

 

The seminar invited Mr. Roger Chan, the Executive Director and COO of Cobalt Fashion Holding Ltd., Mr. Wayne Lo, the Co-founder and Chief Designer of Hoopla, and Ms. Hidy Ng, the Founder of “HIDY N.G.”. Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence”, “Hong Kong Green Innovation Awards”, “Outstanding Green Achiever Commendation Scheme” and “Outstanding Promotional Partner Commendation Scheme” are led by the Environmental Campaign Committee together with the Environment and Ecology Bureau, and in conjunction with 9 other organisations.

HKGIA encourages organisations to develop innovative, green and practicable ideas into gadgets, equipment or systems to solve environmental problems or improve environmental performance, resulting in real benefits to the environment, the organisations themselves and the community.

Clothing Industry Training Authority – Virtual Textile Generation Workshop

Clothing Industry Training Authority is organizing a new course, Virtual Textile Generation Workshop, on 20 Jan 2024. This course aims to enable participants to understand the application of product digitization in the apparel industry. Participants will learn more about the impact and importance of product digital software on the apparel industry, and experience how to use free software to create photos of realistic virtual textile home products in this workshop.
